Fashion, Portrait & Wedding Photographer Cabo San Lucas About the Photographer:

As you probably already know - my name is Marcel Kaiser.
And I won't talk about myself in "third person" - sorry. That would be ridiculous.
Marcel Kaiser does not do that.

Seriously, I'd like to thank you for stopping by.

I was born and raised in a small town in Germany and something happend at the age of 25 after I quit jobs like Army Helicopter Pilot and Financial Adviser: I developed an interest in photography (more or less by accident). It went that far that I studied Photography and opened my first Studio in 2002 as professional Photographer.
And somehow I ended up in Mexico, (well, Cabo San Lucas to be accurate) where I reopened my business as Photographer in September 2008.
Yes there are some holes to fill in this little curriculum vitae, but honestly you don't wanna know - nothing important, trust me... ;-)

Even though I'm easy going in life, when it comes to my work as Photographer I always give 100 % no matter how big or how small the job is.
Photography is not my passion... It´s my LIFE !
With my german heritage I'm constantly in pursuit of perfection. People who really know me "hate" me sometimes for that.
It literally drives them crazy ;-)
The shoot ain't over till it's over. Everything has to be perfect.
After all it's my name printed on the picture...

Some other random facts about me:
- I'm pretty tall: 1,93m (6.332021 ft)
- I am happily married,
- I don't have a dog, ...yet,
- I like cigars and good red wine.

The name GLEZ Photography comes from
Gonzalez, my wife's last name. I dedicated the company's name to her.

Fashion refers to styles of dress (but can also include cuisine, literature, art, architecture, and general comportment) that are popular in a culture at any given time. Such styles may change quickly, and "fashion" in the more colloquial sense refers to the latest version of these styles. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole.

The terms "fashionable" and "unfashionable" are employed to describe whether someone or something fits in with the current or even not so current, popular mode of expression. The term "fashion" is frequently used in a positive sense, as a synonym for glamour, beauty and style. In this sense, fashions are a sort of communal art, through which a culture examines its notions of beauty and goodness. The term "fashion" is also sometimes used in a negative sense, as a synonym for fads and trends, and materialism. A number of cities are recognized as global fashion centers and are recognized for their fashion weeks, where designers exhibit their new clothing collections to audiences. These cities are Paris, Milan, New York City, and London. Other cities, mainly Los Angeles, Berlin, Tokyo, Rome, Miami, Hong Kong, São Paulo, Sydney, Barcelona, Madrid, Montreal, Vienna, Auckland, Moscow, New Delhi and Dubai also hold fashion weeks and are better recognized every year.

A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer.

Some of the earliest portraits of people who were not kings or emperors, are the funeral portraits that survived in the dry climate of Egypt's Fayum district. These are the only paintings of the Roman period that have survived, aside from frescos.

The art of the portrait flourished in Roman sculptures, where sitters demanded realistic portraits, even unflattering ones. During the 4th century, the portrait began to retreat in favor of an idealized symbol of what that person looked like. (Compare the portraits of Roman Emperors Constantine I and Theodosius I at their entries.) In Europe true portraits of the outward appearance of individuals re-emerged in the late Middle Ages, in Burgundy and France.

One of the best-known portraits in the Western world is Leonardo da Vinci's painting titled Mona Lisa, which is a painting of an unidentified woman. The world's oldest known portrait was found in 2006 by a local pensioner, Gérard Jourdy, in the Vilhonneur grotto near Angoulême and is thought to be 27,000 years old.

The term lifestyle was originally coined by Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler in 1929. The current broader sense of the word dates from 1961.

In sociology, a lifestyle is the way a person lives. A lifestyle is a characteristic bundle of behaviors that makes sense to both others and oneself in a given time and place, including social relations, consumption, entertainment, and dress. The behaviors and practices within lifestyles are a mixture of habits, conventional ways of doing things, and reasoned actions. A lifestyle typically also reflects an individual's attitudes, values or worldview. Therefore, a lifestyle is a means of forging a sense of self and to create cultural symbols that resonate with personal identity. Not all aspects of a lifestyle are entirely voluntaristic. Surrounding social and technical systems can constrain the lifestyle choices available to the individual and the symbols she/he is able to project to others and the self.

The lines between personal identity and the everyday doings that signal a particular lifestyle become blurred in modern society. For example, "green lifestyle" means holding beliefs and engaging in activities that consume fewer resources and produce less harmful waste (i.e. a smaller carbon footprint), and deriving a sense of self from holding these beliefs and engaging in these activities. Some commentators argue that, in Modernity, the cornerstone of lifestyle construction is consumption behavior, which offers the possibility to create and further individualize the self with different products or services that signal different ways of life.
